You are charged when you join and monthly on that same date, just like any typical subscription. Apple users! Read this before making IOS in-app purchases!  

Beginning November 2024, purchases made via the Patreon iOS app, are subject to Apple’s 30% App Store Fee. The App Store fee does not apply to existing memberships and memberships made via other platforms.

What does this mean?

If the new purchase (whether a membership subscription or purchase of a digital product), is made on Patreon via desktop web browser, mobile web or Patreon Android app, these purchases will not be subject to Apple’s 30 % App Store fee. Simply, just the membership and digital good purchases made in the Patreon iOS app.

The solution for Apple iOS users:

• If you want to purchase any products or memberships on Patreon, but don’t want to pay the 30% Apple App Store fee, rather make these purchases on Patreon via desktop web browser or mobile web.
• You can still download the free Patreon App from the iOS App store for free to access content, your paid for memberships and products.

To visit the shop on Patreon, you can either:

Purchasing Products:

You can buy digital products through either the Desktop or the Patreon app and access them in the Purchases tab, regardless of where the purchase was initially made. Alternatively, you can also access your purchase by clicking on the provided link in your receipt email.

Accessing Your Products:
On Purchases, you’ll see a list of all your purchases. From here, you can:
View images: If you purchased an image or image galleries, you can view them by clicking on the product and selecting the View option.
Play Media: If the item you purchased is a video or audio file available for streaming, you can play it directly from the product page by clicking on the Play button.
Download Files: In case your purchase includes downloadable files, you can easily
download them from the product page. To do this, click on the product and look for the
Download button.

Due to the digital nature of the products, we do not offer refunds nor do we offer prorated refunds of monthly memberships. Please ensure you sample the free content and the previews provided related to the sessions, tiers and products before purchasing from the shop, or agreeing to sign up and selecting your membership level and price point.

On the desktop version, members can turn Closed captions on/off by hovering over the video and clicking on the Closed captions icon

For the app and mobile web, members can click on the Gear icon and then select Closed Captions from the bottom sheet.

Note: Captions are auto-generated, so not perfect.

Playback controls: There are several ways in which members can interact with videos to enhance their experience:

• Picture-in-picture mode – members can watch videos on full screen and view the player in picture-in-picture mode on both desktop and mobile web
• Casting videos from a mobile device – members can cast videos using iOS Airplay and Android Chromecast
• Cross-platform play state – members can start watching a video on the desktop, pause, and continue watching in-app. We’ll save your place!
• Video playback speed – Playback speeds can help your members watch videos at a faster or slower pace to suit their needs. Members using both desktop and mobile will be able to play videos as slow as 0.25x and as fast as 2x
  • On the desktop version, members can adjust the playback speed by hovering over the video and clicking on the Playback Speed icon, which will bring out a menu with different speeds to choose from
  • For the app and mobile web, they can click on the Gear icon and then select Playback Speed from the bottom sheet

Members can cast videos using iOS Airplay and Android Chromecast. Android works with Chromecast and Cast-enabled devices like Sony and Samsung TVs, as well as Roku TV. iOS supports Apple TV, Airplay and some Roku devices.
